ARTICLE I - NAME
SECTION 1
The
organizations official name is the "Pigeon
Fanciers Association of
Rochester, New
York". It shall be referred to as the "Pigeon
Fanciers Association of Rochester, New York" or
the "Association" or the "Club".
ARTICLE II - PURPOSE
SECTION 1
A. To
advance and improve the scientific breeding and
showing of all varieties of pigeons.
B.
To promote
good-fellowship and friendship among breeders,
and to educate the public on all
varieties of pigeons.
C. To
cooperate with Specialty Clubs, Sectional and
National Organizations.
D. To
attempt to undertake the promotion of two (2)
Annual Shows. An "Open Show" and a "Young Bird
Show".
E.
Monthly
Meetings to be held within the boundaries of
Monroe County. Shows or Sales to be held
within a 25 mile radius of Monroe County Social
Events
shall
be held at the
location decided upon by members.
ARTICLE III - MEMBERSHIP
SECTION 1
A. Any person of good moral character, who breeds pigeons or is
interested in the breeding of pigeons, is
eligible for membership by reading and signing
the BY-LAWS. All membership petitions are to be
submitted by a member
in
good standing and upon their recommendation; the applicant is accepted
or rejected by a majority vote of the membership
in attendance. They shall then be known as an
"Active Member".
B.
Life Membership
may be granted to those members who have over
twenty (20) years in the Club or fifteen (15)
years membership and five (5) of which are in
Office.
C.
Family
Membership
may be granted using the same guidelines as in
SECTION I A.
Family Membership shall have two (2) voting
rights per Family.
D.
No member is to be monetarily compensated for
services rendered in the
performance of
duties or responsibilities pertaining to Club
activities.
ARTICLE IV - OFFICERS
SECTION 1
The Officers of this Club shall be President,
Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership
Chairman, and Show Superintendent. All of whom
shall be members in
good standing
and
shall be elected
for a one (1) year term by a majority of the
Active Members
present at the Annual Meeting.
SECTION 2
Should any vacancy occur in any office, elective
or appointive, the President shall appoint a
Member to fill such vacancy for the unexpired
term.
SECTION 3
The newly elected Officers shall take Office
immediately following the Election.
ARTICLE V - DUTIES of the OFFICERS
SECTION 1
The President shall preside at all Meetings
shall be Ex-Officio Member of all Committees and
shall appoint all Committees not otherwise
provided for.
SECTION 2
The Vice-President shall act in the absence of
the President and act as the Auditor for the Annual Financial Report of the Treasurer.
SECTION 3
The Secretary shall keep all minutes,
inventories, papers, etc., pertaining to his
Office and carry on the correspondence of
the Club.
SECTION 4
The Treasurer shall collect all other monies the
Association and disburse the same
upon a majority vote
of the Membership. He shall keep an accurate
record of all
transactions
and submit a Monthly report of conditions. He
shall present an Annual
Audited Statement at the Annual Meeting.
SECTION 5
The Membership
Chairman shall collect ail Dues and greet all
new or potential applicants
seeking
Membership to the Association. He shall
introduce the applicant to the Members at
a Regular Meeting and disseminate information
about the Club to the applicant. He shall
actively recruit new members for the Club and
assist them in getting started in the hobby.
SECTION
6
The Show Superintendent shall organize both or any attempted Shows
which includes
appointing
people to make the Show run smoothly in
all
areas. His duties shall include,
but not be limited to, collecting entries and monies, directing pay outs,
assigning Judges
to Breeds,
assigning Carriers and Secretaries for each
Judge, running of the Raffle, etc..
ARTICLE VI MEETINGS
SECTION 1
The Regular
meeting of
this Association shall be
held on the first Thursday of each month
at 7:30 PM sharp.
SECTION 2
The
Membership shall be advised at least one week
prior to the Meeting as to the Meeting time and
location.
SECTION 3
The Annual
Meeting shall be held at the Regular February
Meeting of each year, at which time the Officers
are to be elected for the ensuing year.
SECTION 4
Meeting changes and Special Meetings may be called by the President.
Notice shall be
given stating
the date, time and location of such proposed
Meeting to each Member at least one week
prior to the Meeting.
SECTION
5
At any Meeting, four (4) Members in good
standing, consisting of at least two (2)
Officers and two (2) Active Members shall
constitute a Quorum.
